Each day I am amazed at the excitement and vibrancy of this campus. It is alive with dynamic students accomplishing feats.
On any given day I see students in one kitchen practicing Asian-Fusion cooking techniques while students in another kitchen are constructing incredible wedding cakes. During a wine class students are doing a lateral tasting of Chardonnays. In a restaurant design classes students are developing cocktail recipes to match with their theme restaurant. In Food in Films class students work on their own film productions.
Everyone at The Restaurant School at Walnut Hill College is proud to be part of a campus that features some of the industry’s first and exclusive dynamic experiences. Since 1974 we were the country’s first private college to offer career training in the fine dining and luxury hospitality industry. We are the county’s only college to offer the Tour of France; a week-long gastronomic journey to Champagne, Burgundy and Paris, the Hospitality Florida Resort and Cruise Tour which takes our students behind-the-scenes to Walt Disney World and a cruise to the Bahamas and the Hospitality Tour of England when students visit the English countryside and London.
We do things with what we call TRStyle – taking the usual and making it a little bit special. Therefore a class on front-desk hotel operations will find themselves on a tour of one of Philadelphia’s luxury hotels. Students from an international cuisine course are presenting specialties in one of our four restaurants. In a management course students develop the working plans of a restaurant, hotel or pastry shop. This is a college education with a purpose. It is practical, cutting-edge and in a word, fun!
Our students work hard and are inspired by our engaging faculty. There are over six hundred students hailing from seventeen states and countries that have selected The Restaurant School at Walnut Hill College as part of their career path to success.
