2009 Chocolate and Culinary Competitions

Registration will begin in January 2009

High school instructors may contact us after October 15, 2008 for a Competition Guideline booklet which will be mailed to you.

You will be asked to complete the registration form in the back of the booklet (individual students cannot register on their own).

This event is open to juniors and seniors competing in one of two divisions: 
Division I is open to students currently enrolled in a high school program.  Division II is open to students currently enrolled in a Vocational program.

Summer Institute 2009
For Students Graduating in 2010


July 15 - July 17, 2009

The Restaurant School at Walnut Hill College presents a 3-day hospitality program for high school students graduating in the year 2010. Join us for a 3-day adventure into the world of hospitality. We have created a hands-on program that will get you involved in culinary arts, pastry arts and management. You will experience exciting career options within the industry. In just three days you will gain an understanding of what this rewarding field has to offer. You will also discover what makes The Restaurant School at Walnut Hill College unique…an approach to learning that focuses on YOU…the student.


Dates: Wednesday-Friday: July 15, 16, 17, 2009

Fee: $425.00

Fee includes all meals, food and supplies needed for classes, as well as the Family Celebration Dinner on Friday evening for all parents of the participants.

All participants will be in a variety of hands-on and demonstration classes during the three days.
On Wednesday and Thursday evening they will be dining with us off premises.
All events are fully chaperoned by our staff.
Students will be staying overnight in our dormitories on Wednesday and Thursday evening. Staff will be staying overnight as well.

Family Celebration Dinner: Friday, July 17th : students will be assisting with the preparation and the operation of our restaurant to host their parents for this wonderful dinner.

Awards and Certificates will be distributed following the dinner.

Registration is limited to the first 50 applicants.
